DISCIPLESHIP ACCOUNTABILITY
Christians Committed to Holy Living Strengthening Each Other
"Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."Galatians 6:2 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.Ecclesiastes 4:9,10 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one anotherHebrews 10:23-25a
Why don't some members
of the body of Christ grow? Many are not growing in grace because they are not
depending on other members of Christ's body to help them. It is not possible
to be a healthy person if part of our body is not functioning in it's God given
capacity. Cancer is an abnormality in which some of the body's cells stop contributing
to the body and simply begin displacing functioning cells. We cannot be a holy
people unless we are involved in helping each other "come in the unity
of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto
the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.Ephesians 4:13
But how are we to do this? The First Methodists were named such because they
banded together for this very purpose. They took seriously the command to Confess
your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.James
5:16 For this very purpose they assembled every week that they might help each
other spiritually.
